Veterans for McNerney

The Record: "Congressional candidate Jerry McNerney has announced that retired Air Force Lt. Col. William Evans has joined the Pleasanton Democrat's bid to unseat Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Tracy.

Evans, as chairman of Veterans for McNerney, will coordinate veteran outreach in the 11th Congressional District, which covers much of San Joaquin County. Evans served during the Vietnam War and lives in Pleasanton.McNerney's son Michael, who joined the Air Force because of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, will serve as the committee's honorary chairman with Evans.

McNerney also has earned endorsements from Gen. Wesley Clark and Veterans' Vision, a bipartisan group that supports the Homeless Veterans Assistance Act of 2006 and the Veterans Health Care Act of 2006." (source)
